About Castaways
Castaways was formed in 1951 by alumni of ULSC, and has since provided a way for alumni sailors to keep in touch.
Castaways have also left their mark on the team racing circuit, being three-time winners of the Wilson Trophy.
Castaways circulate two newsletters each year, The Footprint, which provides news and upcoming events from Castaways, UCL and Imperial.
Castaways also host the Castaways Cup, an alumni team racing event with copious BBQ and Pimm's.
Finally, but arguably the largest event of the year, is the Castaways Dinner. A black-tie affair, the dinner provides an opportunity for all generations to meet and reminisce. Speeches are made and the Nick Phillips Trophy is presented.
Aims
1.
To promote sailing and racing, especially team racing, amongst members
2.
To promote the continuity and ensure the wellbeing of UCLSC and ICSC and assist them in every possible way
3.
To form a permanent bond between keen ex-members of both UCLSC and ICSC
