As we publish the Spring 2026 edition of The Footprint, we are delighted to share another snapshot of what has been a busy and exciting period for London Castaways.
This term’s newsletter reflects the strength and momentum of our community. From competitive success at Brummy Boom and the EMRT Finals, to collaboration with Imperial and UCL Sailing Clubs, it has been fantastic to see Castaways active both on and off the water. The reports from ICSC and UCLSC capture not only strong performances but also the energy and commitment that continue to define London university sailing.
We are especially pleased to be building towards a landmark moment for the association: the 75th anniversary of Castaways, which we will celebrate at the Castaways Cup and Dinner on Saturday 13th June. We hope this will be a special opportunity to reconnect generations of alumni, from recent graduates to those who sailed decades ago.
Alongside our traditional fixtures, we are continuing to broaden our events calendar, from Castaways drinks at the Royal Thames Yacht Club to plans for a Summer Sail Week. As always, the association thrives on the enthusiasm and ideas of its members, and we warmly encourage you to get involved, whether by attending an event, volunteering, contributing a story, or simply spreading the word.
We hope you enjoy reading this edition, and we look forward to seeing many of you at an event soon.
Fair winds,
The Castaways Committee
